I saw this wonderful picture that my son Jakob of Phootstep Films took recently in Austria and it made me think of meditation, why you may ask, let me explain.
Most of us have heard that meditation is good for us, and it is, I personally have meditated almost every day for the past 20+ years.
Today I want to focus on 2 benefits, and in my opinion the most important. Inner peace and awareness.
The aim or the goal if you like in meditation, apart from the inner peace that can be found, (which is an awesome tool to recognise and know as you can call on it in any moment, during anxiety or challenging/frustrating situations,) is the awareness that is created.
To make changes in our lives we must first become aware of ourselves and of the part of us that is driving us ( usually or mind ). You don’t know what you don’t know so to become aware that we are not our mind, we are much more than that is empowering. Just for a moment think of an apple, you can see it right? well who is looking at the apple??????? I learned this from Bob Proctor, pretty cool if this is the first time you have thought about it that way.
Now back to Jakob’s picture – the aim of meditation is that you have the view ( perspective) of your life that you have being in this gondola, when you raise up and get out of the drama and detail of your mind, you can see a bigger picture and that my friends is the point and a very empowering way to live life. Imagine if you could see your life from this perspective, we would get less caught up in little dramas and be in a powerful position to make better decisions.
