Be The Change–Loving Kindness

I was recently looking through a list of qualities that I want to strengthen in myself and what I felt the world could do with more of – I know if I want to see more love in the world then I must BE more loving, so to see more kindness in the world I must up my own level of kindness.

I decided to set myself a challenge – for the entire month of October I have committed to doing the Loving Kindness Meditation every day.

This meditation was my introduction to mediating – it was taught to me by a beautiful woman called Sylvana – I am deeply grateful to her for sharing this with me.

Loving Kindness Meditation

Closing your eyes, bring your awareness to where you are

physically connecting with the earth, send down some roots deep down into mother earth, now bring your awareness to the vast father sky above and allow your thoughts to connect into the universal energies.

Bring that universal energy down into your body and bring up the energy from mother earth to meet together in your heart.

Just rest there for a moment, feeling those energies combined in your heart.

Imagine someone you love unconditionally, with them in mind, and sending love to them repeat to your self,

· Just as I am happy, you too are happy

· Just as I am peaceful, you too are peaceful

· Just as I am loved you too are loved

· Just as I am liberated, you too are liberated

Imagine someone you don’t know very well, it might be a teacher or the person at the supermarket, feeling the love in your heart, again repeat to your self,

· Just as I am happy, you too are happy

· Just as I am peaceful, you too are peaceful

· Just as I am loved you too are loved

· Just as I am liberated, you too are liberated

Imagine someone that has irritated you or upset you, and feeling the love in your heart repeat to yourself,

· Just as I am happy, you too are happy

· Just as I am peaceful, you too are peaceful

· Just as I am loved you too are loved

· Just as I am liberated, you too are liberated

Just rest in this loving feeling……………………………………..

Keeping your eyes closed, gently bring your awareness back to this space, back to your body and when you are ready and fully present gently open your eyes.
